back to basics toys review

Today's Review is for a TinkerToys Building Blocks Set from Back to Basics Toys!

Here's some more info on it:
"The construction toy that’s been a favorite since 1914! Children use the included design guide or their own imaginations to create structures, animals, shapes, and more. Durable wood and plastic pieces fit easily together. 102-piece Jumbo set comes in the classic TinkerToy canister and provides hours of creative fun. Jumbo tin size 18"h. (Age 3+)"

When I was younger I was never one to sit in front of the t.v. or play video games all day long. I was all about using my imagination. And that is why I was so incredibly excited to find Back to Basics Toys. They have toys that I remember playing with as a child! Plus lots of other great toys that I wish I had had to play with as a child. The idea behind Back to Basics Toys is to enable parents to give their children high quality, non-violent toys that help bring out their childs imagination. In their 'About' section they state this, (with which I completely agree), "...a child's mind can be stimulated, creativity fostered, imagination expanded, hand-eye dexterity improved, and important life skills learned with toys that provide pure, plain, and simple fun. " And as parents, why wouldn't we want to provide good, wholesome fun for our children that helps them learn and grow?

Yes, Calvin may not be able to play with TinkerToys yet, but I am more than happy to play with them until he's old enough! I absolutely LOVE TinkerToys, they are so ridiculously fun, I just can't get enough of them! Not only are they great quality toys, which is very important, but the possiblities with them are endless! Think about all the money you have to put into one videogame, for an XBOX that's $60 per game. And that's just one game. With TinkerToys, though, you can get a Jumbo set and a Junior set for just a little more, and just imagine all you could do with it! You can make rocket ships, cars, guitars, robots, elevators, buildings, the list goes on. Whatever your imagination can think of. And that's the key word here, "imagination". It is so important for a child to use their imagination instead of vegging out in front of the t.v. all day.

I know when Calvin is older he will definitely be playing with these TinkerToys as well as other great quality toys that I know I'll be able to find at Back to Basics. Unfortunately for him, though, he's going to have to share with not only his mom, but his dad as well, considering we're just two big kids ourselves ;) Which is another quick point I'd like to make, toys like these can help bring the family together. Spending quality time together as a family is so incredibly important, and that just can't be achieved with a t.v. on 24-7. So turn the t.v. off, get some awesome toys from Back to Basics Toys, and have fun!

I love that Melody Harp and all the music available. Back to Basic toys was a regular shopping order when my boys were little. Now that I'm due a grandchild, I need to introduce them to Back to Basics.
All the automated and tech toys in the world cannot nourish creativity the way these toys do.
