OXO Review

OXO Product Review

Today's Review is for an Everyday Kitchen Tool Set from OXO!
*note that this is a review only, not a giveaway*

Yes, I am not afraid to admit it, I have been living with Dollar Tree kitchen tools. I bought them when I first moved out and have been living in shame ever since. Quickly diverting guests from the kitchen so they won't notice my sub-par, flimsy kitchen tools. Trying my best to avoid the all too familiar gasps of shock and cries of "Oh my!" It has truly been a burden these past 4 years.

All joking aside, though, it can be incredibly frusterating using cheap kitchen tools. I haven't even had a pizza cutter for over a year now because our other one had been dull from day one. So I was of course very excited to get a chance to review these kitchen tools from OXO.

This set is so fabulous, for only $99.99 (shipping is free on anything over $50, so it really is just $99.99!), you get 15 Pieces: a "Stainless Steel Utensil Holder which holds our Nylon Flexible Turner, 12" Tongs with Nylon Heads, Nylon Square Turner, Nylon Spoon, Nylon Slotted Spoon, Grater, Swivel Peeler, Ice Cream Scoop, Potato Masher, Soft-handled Can Opener, 11" Balloon Whisk, Silicone Spatula, Meat Tenderizer and a 4" Pizza Wheel."!!!! Can you believe that?

And once you get to feel and test out the quality of OXO products, you will never go the dollar store route again! I was so impressed with everything in this set. The nylon spoons and spatulas are so sturdy, which surprised me because, like I said, I am used to flimsy and cheap. And just look at that whisk and potato masher, you can see from the pictures alone that these are definitely not your dollar tree kitchen tools. They, like all of the OXO products, are heavy-duty and made to last. And the Pizza Wheel , Potato Peeler, and Can Opener are all so nice and sharp that you'll wonder just where they've been all your life! (How I lived with the dull ones I had is beyond me...)

My favorite tools from the set you ask? I absolutely love the Nylon Flexible Turner because I have been needing this so badly for my eggs and pancakes. The thicker spatulas just tear them up, but this works amazing. Also, the oh so fab Grater which enabled me to grate my cheese down to the perfect tiny size for my Pollo a la Crema sauce I made the other night (yum!). And my other fav, the Tongs with Nylon Heads. I use these for salads, noodles, sausages, anything that needs more precise picking up because you can precisley pick items up with these. They grip well, they aren't too flimsy or too tight. And, they have a nifty little lock to close them in place.

And my favorite out of my favorites, the Ice Cream Scoop! I'm addicted to ice cream, so this would of course be my absolute fav :) What's fantastic about OXO's ice cream scoop is that it is squared at the top with pointed edges for better scoopage. This, of course, makes it easier on me to scoop out the ice cream, which means I get ice cream faster....which in turn makes me very happy :)

I would recommend OXO to anyone and I think that their products would make fabulous presents for the upcoming holiday season. Or weddings, house warmings, or just a "Hey, I noticed you have Dollar Store kitchen tools and I thought I would save you from your shame..." kind of gift. ;)

Oh, I feel your pain! None of us should have to make do with unfit tools! I've been married 40 years and I'm pretty sure that the bent up wire whisk that I use was a wedding gift! Now you've got me wondering who gave me that cheap-o gift in the first place! LOL The only reason its lasted 40 years is that I hardly ever use it! It has kind of slid to the back of the drawer along with certain useless gadgets I won from a party plan years ago! Why do I keep them you may ask? Well, they were free! Thanks for the honest Oxo review! I'd love to win! hondaray6 at hotmail dot com

I love to cook so I really like all the products that oxo has to offer. I would probably get the salt and pepper grinder because that is one thing that I really need.

Yeah, some of my kitchen tools are 99-cent only finds, and others I found as close out specials at other stores. I'd be delighted to win the OXO tools.

Great give a way, the official entry form is not working. I love this give away I have just a few OXO tools and they work great, the rest are the dollar store variety. I really digg the pixxa cutter but the spatula's work great too. I hope I win.

I'm not seeing the official entry form. I'd love to win some qualify kitchen tools. It seems we are always in need of a better potato peeler. I haven't heard of tongs with nylon head before...it would be nice to try that out. We have a few pairs (w/out nylon) that have seen better days.

Thanks ` Priscilla

I bought OXO utensils for my cousin's bridal shower, and was sorry I wasn't having one of my own so that I could get cool OXO stuff, too. I have since bought some OXO toys for myself, and I love them all! They are reasonably priced and very, very well-made. This set would make the perfect stocking stuffer - wouldn't mind having one in my own kitchen!

I could use a nice set of Kitchen Tools, I think it's one thing we usually buy cheap, but use everyday and wish we had a nice set. I know what I want for Christmas! This set by OXO!
