Emerson Creek Pottery Giveaway

Emerson Creek Pottery Giveaway

Today's Giveaway is for a Go Green Earthware Brie Baker from Emerson Creek Pottery! (ARV $16)

Love this! Here's some more info on it:
"With warming earth tones, this ceramic baking dish is a handcrafted piece from our potters that will help you and us to save the planet in a truly exceptional way. Our pottery is lead-free and is safe for daily use, serving, baking, storing, dishwasher and microwave use. Our pottery is completely handmade and handpainted using non-toxic, natural materials, right here in the USA. All our ceramic bakeware is handmade and handpainted at Emerson Creek Pottery. All pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe, ovenproof, and 100% lead free. Dimensions: 1 1/2" H x 8" W."

Now for the interview:

1. How/Why was Emerson Creek Pottery started?

I first got into pottery because I liked the hands on experience of working with clay. I came from a background in photography and was and am attracted to the idea of making a functional art piece that people can use in their everyday lives(at a reasonable price). more info at website here http://www.emersoncreekpottery.com/aboutus.shtmlhic.

2. Tell us a little more about you and the other people behind Emerson Creek Pottery...

I studied Anthropology in college and got a graduate fine arts degree in photography before starting to learn pottery in which I am self taught. Melinda, our primary decorator has a printmaking degree and has learned our decoration techniques here. We have a number of other folks who have worked here for many years. more info here http://www.emersoncreekpottery.com/meetourpeople.shtml.

3. Which piece is your current favorite?

My current favorite is the brie baker which is great for making baked brie- a great treat, or pot pies. It makes a great container for holding ingredients during food prep too.

4. You have such a wide array of pieces, how long did it take to come up with all the different designs/styles?

About 30 years! We're adding all of the time. Always open to new ideas and suggestions.

5. Do you Haiku?

6. Can we see a picture of the Emerson Creek Pottery workspace?

I love the Field of Iris Collection...all of it. But if I could only buy one piece it would have to be the ice tea pitcher. It would look amazing on my table during a summer barbeque with friends.
